Questions.
Which receipts count?
Any receipt for fuel pumped into a car, truck or motorbike: gasoline, petrol or diesel, from any station, in any country. EV charging, car washes and shop purchases don't count.
My station sells by the litre.
Litres count too. Every 3.785 litres is a gallon, converted when you send the receipt.
How much can I earn?
10¢ for every gallon, counting up to 40 gallons a fill-up and 200 gallons a month. A 15-gallon fill-up pays $1.50.
When do I get paid?
A person checks each receipt, usually within a day. Once what you're owed reaches $5, we buy USO and send it to your Solana wallet. Smaller amounts wait, because a first transfer costs a little to open the account in your wallet.
What is USO?
The United States Oil Fund, an exchange-traded fund that follows the price of crude oil. On Solana it's a token issued by Backpack Securities. It sits in your wallet like any other token: hold it, send it or sell it.
Why oil?
Gas is refined from crude oil, so we pay you in the thing you burn. USO moves with the price of crude, up and down.
Do I need a wallet, or $OCTANE?
Neither. Sign in with your email and we set up a Solana wallet for you, or use Phantom, Solflare or Backpack. Every driver gets the same rate whether they hold $OCTANE or not.
Is this an oil company?
No. Octane isn't affiliated with the United States Oil Fund, Backpack Securities or any fuel brand. We pay in USO; we don't speak for them.
